NewSong Board of Elders

Minutes of June 19, 2004 Meeting

The NewSong Board of Elders met Saturday afternoon, June 19, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Allen’s home. Elders present included Dave Allen, Brian Brown, Michael Smith, Brent Orr, Tom Frederick, and Steve Jackson. Curt Sloyer was absent.

The meeting was short and casual and included the following discussions:

The possibility of splitting children’s SS into two groups. Currently there is a large age range in the class. The teachers are having trouble keeping everyone’s attention.

There was a discussion of getting a physical wall partition in Kidszone room in order to split the room. The decision was made that it would probably be too small. Dave will speak to Melissa about it.

Pastor Steve provided a recap of upcoming services in July including a special Independence Day service, the El Salvador Mission Team service on the 11^th, Doug Greengard, New Orleans Saints Chaplain on the 18^th and Youth Sunday on the 25^th.

There was a discussion of the commitment level of the men of NewSong that arose out of our men’s softball team forfeiting so many games.

The Elders agreed to send $500 of our monthly benevolence giving to Campus Crusade for Christ’s “Bibles for Iraq” campaign.
