NewSong
Community Church believes strongly in missions. International missions is one
way we
accomplish the "Share with the world" part of our mission statement. It is our
desire to share the love of Jesus Christ and to provide direct
"hands-on" assistance to the world around us; and especially with
those whose needs are far greater than our own.
NewSong has sent
international mission teams out several times in our eight years as a church.
We've sent teams to El Salvador and to Ghana in addition to several local and
regional outreaches. This year we will be returning to
Ghana, led by Pastor Steve Jackson and his wife Donna. Steve has been to
Ghana three times. Team members in 2008 include Steve and Donna Jackson,
Amy and Leigh Jackson, Jim Garrett and Kim Frederick This year we hope to minister
in local indigenous churches among the Dagomba tribe in and around Tamale in
Northern Ghana. in addition to ministering in local churches there through
preaching and teaching, we hope to do minor repairs to church buildings, to help
lead Bible Clubs, and to do some local pastor training.
We
will be partnering this year we will
be partnering with Bob and Bonnie Parker and their ministry in the Tamale area
called Seed Ministry
